Juniper berries are actually the female seed cones of the Juniper plant, but have a berry-like appearance. Juniper berries are both a herb and a spice with a spicy-woody aroma.


Use Juniper berries dried, crushed or whole to flavour in stuffings for more gamey meats such as, rabbit, venison, duck and also your regular meats like, beef and pork. Add them to fruit cake, marinades, sauces and casseroles. 


Juniper berries are the main flavouring for gin.
